The City of Calgary Waste & Recycling Services and Community Strategies are partnering with us to help residents get rid of unwanted household items and property waste.  There will be three packer trucks onsite to collect household waste.  All City services are free to all Calgarians

The following items MAY NOT be brought to the cleanup:

Organics Metals Tires
Household Chemicals Propane Tanks Microwaves
Home Appliances Liquids Car Batteries
Glass Railroad Ties

Our very own Varsity resident Ankur Mahajan will be bringing his Paper Shredding & Recycling trucks.

Paper Shredding – will accept office paper, receipts, mails, bank statements, notes, printouts, newspapers and magazines.  Please note there is a limit of 3 file size boxes (W 15” x L 12” x H 10”) per household.  This is a free service with proof of current 2024-2025 VCA Membership.  Click here to see how to print your membership card Membership Card
A charge of $5 per box will apply for non-members.  Cash only.

Electronics Recycling – will accept computers, laptops, notebooks, tablets, monitors, smart phones, answering machines, printers, copiers, scanners, projectors power cords, cables, TV’s screens and DVD & game consoles.  This is a free service.

Goodwill Industries of Alberta will be onsite to collect gently used household items, and clothing. Goodwill is a registered non-profit, and 91 cents of every dollar earned goes towards supporting Albertans with disabilities find and gain meaningful employment. Goodwill also diverts over 22 million KGs of items from the landfill every year.

Good donations include clean, new and gently used clothing, footwear, housewares, linens for bed, bath and kitchen, furniture in GOOD condition, sporting equipment, artwork, collectables, books, jewelry, fashion accessories, holiday items, toys games, records, CDs and DVDs, reusable bags, handbags/purses and much more.
